Patients who use Good Samaritan’s MyChart patient portal will now be able to have a virtual video visit with a provider.
MyChart is an online portal that gives patients access to communicate with their physicians, view test results, request prescription refills and view upcoming appointments.
The new virtual video visit service will be called My Health Live.
With this new service, patients can be seen virtually by a nurse practitioner for acute illnesses typically seen at the Convenient Care Clinic. These visits can be scheduled between 10 a.m. and noon or between 2 and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The app, Zoom, must be downloaded to the patient’s computer, tablet or smartphone for the visit.
“We are excited to start these virtual visits at the Convenient Care Clinic,” said Mickey Pagan, Director of Community Health. “Patients who are in need of medical attention and do not feel well enough to come into the clinic can now be diagnosed in the comfort of their own home.”
My Health Live is for Indiana residents over the age of one. Insurance will not be billed and the cost is $49.
Common illness seen at the Convenient Care Clinic that can be cared for through My Health Live are: vomiting, diarrhea and nausea; ear infections; insect bites; sore throat, colds, flu and fever.
