Davis sentenced in 2015 shooting case

One of the two men charged in connection to a 2015 shooting at a Terre Haute house party was sentenced Monday.
 
Khalil Davis was sentenced to 1,349 days after pleading guilty to Criminal Recklessness.
 
Davis, of Indianapolis, was 19 in when he was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Donavon Clinkscale of Indianapolis at a house party.
 
Although it is unclear who actually fired the shots that killed Clinkscale, Davis and Leon Johnson were both charged with criminal recklessness in the case. Johnson was also charged with carrying a handgun without a proper license.  
 
Davis’ sentence includes 863 days to be served at the Indiana Department of Corrections and another 486 days to be served on the Home Detention Program. He was also granted 543 days credit for time served in the Vigo County Jail.
 
In 2017, Johnson was sentenced to five years with two years to be served on the Home Detention Program and the other three years suspended.
