SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Volleyball season is just around the corner… and one Sullivan County high school gets a jump start with a fundraiser.

The North Central Lady Birds hosted a fundraiser Thursday at El Patron Mexican Restaurant. Players assisted staff by refilling customers drinks, chips and salsa, and cleaning tables.

Volleyball coach Heather Mccoskey said that this fundraiser will help with essential needs for this upcoming season.

“We’re very excited. We do have a small team this year so it’s a little disappointing with our numbers, but we’re going to be pretty powerful this year even though we’re young. We’re really excited to get back on the court,” Mccoskey said.

The teams first home game will be on August 17th.
