SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Local children are learning how to become leaders and make a difference in their communities.
Drug Free Vigo County is hosting a two-day Wabash Valley Youth Leadership Conference at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
The goal of the program is to teach the kids how to be leaders at school and beyond.
These students are in middle school and organizers say it’s the perfect time to teach them about leadership.
“Middle school years are a pivotal time in a young person’s life and if we can make that impact and really start to work with the kids now, that’s going to last much longer throughout their high school and college career,” says Brandon Halleck, CEO of Chances and Services for Youth.
This is the second year for this conference.
