WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person has been arrested for aggravated battery and criminal confinement after a police investigation in Washington.

According to the Washington Police Department, second shift officers met a victim that had clearly been beaten up and claimed it had happened on Grand Avenue. Police noted the victim had severe bruising and swelling.

The investigation led police to believe the person had been assaulted both by hand and with an object of some sort.

Police then arrested 49-year-old Norvin Bonilla Cordero and preliminarily charged the man with aggravated battery and criminal confinement.

Police thanked the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Daviess County EMS, and the Hope’s Voice organization for assistance in the matter.
