Work resumes this week on $5 million project on US 40, US 231

CLAY, PUTNAM COUNTIES, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a patch and resurfacing project will begin this week. The contractor will begin overnight patching work through Greencastle from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.. Thursday and Friday.

The contractor will then begin resurfacing the area on U.S 40 from the east city limits of Brazil through Knightsville and Harmony. This work will likely begin Monday, and will have one lane closed in each direction in the area they will be working.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 20.

Wabash Valley Asphalt Inc. was awarded the $5 million contract.
