ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS (WTWO/WAWV) — For those that like gardening, an event happening this weekend may be of interest.

The White Violet Center for Eco-Justice at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is hosting its annual spring plant sale.

The sale started on Friday and will continue Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the center’s greenhouse.

People will be able to find vegetables, flowers, and herbs. They also have bedding plants available, like peonies. It’s also a prime time, to get Dahlia tubers.

“Almost everything that we grow on our five-acre farm we grow from seed that we start ourselves so this is kind of a nice chance for folks to be able to get some varieties that we have access to as growers because we’re purchasing in a larger quantity from specialized sources,” Candace Minster.

Minster says it’s best to get there early because supplies are limited. The White Violet Center for Eco-justice is a ministry of Sisters of Providence.
