SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Get ready for some fun under the big top as the Culpepper & Merriweather “Great Combined Circus” comes to Sullivan.
It will be at the Sullivan County Fairgrounds, with showtimes at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 20th. The circus will feature lions and tigers, a 10th-generation horseriding act, trapeze artists, jugglers, clowns, and more.
The community is also welcome to come out at 9:30 that morning as the circus prepares for the big day.
“Watch us raise the big top up. Big Top is a nickname for that big ol’ circus tent. Then stay for the free tour where you actually get to meet our lions and tigers up close and personal, so we’ll see you under the big top,” said Skeeter the Clown.
You can get tickets at the 4H extension office, Springer Insurance, Danko Farm Supply and from Sullivan County Fair board members.
If you get tickets in advance, it is $13 for adults, $8 for kids, and seniors. At the box office, prices will be $16 for adults and $9 for kids and seniors. There are also a limited number of free tickets available for people who were impacted by the tornado. Those will be given on a first, come, first-served basis at the 4H extension office.
The free tickets were made possible by Kingsley UMC, Alan and Audrey Badger, and Kenny and Elizabeth Thrasher.
