TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A concert this weekend that will help ensure local families have access to diapers has announced a change in date and venue.
The first ever “Huggie Luv Fest,” which was originally going to be held Saturday at Meadows Shopping Center, will now be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Stephen’s Dive Bar in Terre Haute. The changes are due to a chance of rain.
“Musicians Giving Back” will host the event where several bands will be featured. The concerts will raise funds for Covered with Love, Inc., a local non-profit that helps provide diapers to struggling families.
Admission to the all-day concert will be $10 or a package of diapers. Covered with Love board member Karen Long said it’s important to keep their shelves stocked because one in three families struggles to afford diapers.
“Last year, we gave over 75,000 diapers,” she said. “Seventy-five thousand diapers to over 1,000 families, over 2,100 children, because diaper need is a real thing.”
