Original: Police are investigating a situation involving reported gunfire and threats toward a local farm in Daviess County.

The Washington Police Department said it all began Thursday at approximately 5:50 p.m. when officers were called to NW 14th Street and Jackson Street about a potential gunfire situation.

Police say a male subject had potentially shot at someone, however, they confirmed once on scene that no one had been hurt in the incident. The suspect had reportedly already fled the area. Police say they had reason to believe individuals involved had made threats toward Perdue Farms in Washington.

Due to those threats, officers from Washington Police Department, Indiana State Police, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana Conservation Officers responded to Perdue Farms.

Police remained at Perdue farms for some time, but determined there was no danger and later left the scene.
