Washington, IN police arrest 4, seize $7k worth of crystal meth

WASHINGTON, Ind. — Within the past week, Washington, Ind. police have arrested four people and seized approximately 70 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Jeremy Sims, 48, and Percy Lyford IV, both of Washington, were arrested Wednesday after Washington Police served a narcotics search warrant at a private residence.

At that time, authorities located 16.5 grams of methamphetamine.

Officers continued the investigation, and on Saturday, seized approximately 53.8 grams of methamphetamine.

At that time, Charles Stafford, 36, and Lacy Drew, 27, both of Petersburg were arrested.

Sims and Stafford both face charges related to dealing methamphetamine. Drew and Lyford face drug possession charges. Lyford was also charged with maintaining a common nuisance.

Authorities estimated the street value of the seized drugs to be approximately $7,000.
