DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The home of the Hatchets was reportedly put on lockdown for a time as authorities swept the building for potential threats.

That’s according to the Washington Police Department, who said they were made aware Friday, March 24, of a situation at Washington High School involving a single round of ammunition.

Police said the bullet was found in a school bathroom.

Students were placed in lockdown as officers from WPD as well as Troopers with ISP and K-9s searched the school. Police reported that nothing further was located and the lockdown was eventually lifted.

We’ve contacted the Washington Schools Superintendent’s Office for comment but were told no comment was available due to officials being out of the office for Spring Break.
