WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — To recognize the role that the community plays in protecting one another and the children of the area some local organizations will be holding a Pinwheels for Prevention event. 

According to a post on by the Washington Police Department, The Indiana Department of Child Services, Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, and Kids First Trust Fund are welcoming residents to East Side Park in Washington on Friday, April 21 to celebrate rain or shine.

The event will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and attendees can look forward to free food of hot dogs, chips, and a drink. Local food trucks, Cheese Lousie, and Big Al’s BBQ will also be at the event for people to purchase from.

Along with the food, K9 presentations, fire trucks, and giveaways including bicycles, AirPods, Pack’n’Plays, and more will be available for participants to enjoy.
