Warrant services turns into standoff in Parke County Friday

LODI, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man threatened to shoot Parke County Deputies who were attempting to serve a warrant on him.

Late Friday night, the deputies went to a home in Lodi, Ind. to serve a warrant on 50-year-old John Bush, according to the Parke County Sheriff’s Department.

Bush refused to leave the residence, and told deputies he would shoot them if they tried to enter. According to the sheriff’s department, Bush barricaded himself inside the home, resulting in a long standoff.

The Terre Haute Special Response Team was called in, and law enforcement officials from several area agencies created a perimeter around the residence.

Deputies were eventually able talk Bush out of the house peacefully.

He was arrested and transported to the Parke County Jail on the active warrant and additional charges of resisting law enforcement and intimidation.
