TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Wabash Valley Asphalt was awarded the contract to patch and resurface some roads in southern Vigo County. The bid came Wednesday afternoon during a meeting of the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission.
Wabash Valley Asphalt was the only company to submit a bid for the project with a price of $628,465.90. The roads to be repaved will be in the Vigo County Industrial Parks located off Highway 41. The two industrial parks are located across from one another on Harlan Road.
Rick Burger, a commissioner with the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission, said after the meeting that he was happy TIF dollars are continuing to be used to improve the community without any cost to the taxpayer.
“There’s a lot of semis that come in and out of the industrial park, and we just want to make sure that we provide the infrastructure. That be roads for traffic to travel on, and by doing this we’ll just have a great industrial park, which we do have out there already,” Burger said.
