VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The city of Vincennes is preparing for its annual “Christmas Parade of Lights” as the holiday season approaches. The city has made the parade a holiday tradition for over 20 years.
The parade was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizer Timothy Salters said he is excited to see it return.
“Kind of think of it as just almost like a walking Christmas lights show that just goes past you,” Salters said. “We really do enjoy it here and it was one of the things that we really did miss out on and to be able to have that come back is very important for us.”
Members of the community have already signed up to participate. Volunteer applications will be accepted until Dec. 6.
The parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 on Main Street in Vincennes, Ind.
