VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Always lock your car, and secure valuables inside your home.
That’s the message Vincennes Police are sending as they point to a rise in thefts from vehicles in throughout the city.
In a post to Facebook, police warned that in the last week there has been a sudden increase in this kind of theft.
“This has not been in one area in town, it has been in all neighborhoods,” the post reads.
Police stressed that residents need to remember to lock their vehicles, and if unable to take valuables inside, to at least be sure they are out of sight from someone passing by the vehicle.
Police also asked for increased vigilance from residents and asked folks who see something or someone suspicious to call the non-emergency line at 812-882-1630.
