VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The city will be providing residents with the opportunity to dispose of large household and furniture items free of charge. 

Vincennes Mayor, Joe Yochum, in collaboration with Republic Services, has announced the dates for the city-wide disposal days. Citizens will be able to take their large, unwanted items to Republic Services free of charge. 

The disposal days will take place on Saturday, June 3, and Saturday, June 10. Residents can bring the following items to dispose of:

  • Household furniture
  • Mattresses
  • Large toys
  • Carpeting (tied in a three-foot bundle)

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • Construction debris
  • Building materials
  • Tires
  • Paint (unless dried)
  • Liquid waste
  • Electronics
  • Hazardous waste
  • Freon-containing or appliances that have contained Freon
  • Batteries
  • Free liquids including paint cans
  • Oil jugs
  • Chemical jugs
  • Materials containing asbestos  
  • E-waste

A form of valid photo identification that verifies a Vincennes city address is needed to participate in the disposal.
