VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A laundromat in Knox County is still standing after strong storms almost destroyed it last week. The business lost part of its roof and one of the walls caved in leaving the inside exposed.
The most interesting part is that it re-opened just a day later.
Owner Keith Fisher said he had just started eating dinner Wednesday when he got the phone call about his laundromat. After securing the structure, a contracting company began rebuilding Thursday morning, and with a tarp and some wood, the business was re-opened by Friday afternoon.
Fisher said he’s grateful to his customers for their constant support.
Many customers who had their own storm damage were appreciative of the laundromat being back open so soon. The business hopes to have the wall rebuilt within the next two weeks.
