KNOX COUNTY, Ind. – The State of Indiana’s local COVID-19 testing site in Vincennes will
be changing locations starting next week.

The testing site will be moving from the National Guard Armory to Vincennes University’s Green Activities Center, with testing set to begin there Tuesday.

“I would like to thank Vincennes University for being such a great community partner who is
willing and able to provide such a site for this COVID-19 testing,” said Dr. Alan Stewart, Knox
County Health Officer. “However, I am still concerned with the state’s post-test procedures regarding patients’ care. The state needs to make sure that each patient’s primary care physician is included in this process in order for the patients to receive the appropriate care. So far, it looks like the state testing protocol does not include this important step in caring for these patients. It is not enough to only give them a negative or positive test result.”

According to an email sent out by VU President Chuck Johnson to the VU community, the initial agreement for the use of Green Activities Center runs from May 26 through June 29. Logistics
Health Inc., a unit of OptumServe Health Services, will manage the site.

Both VU and LHI will evaluate the situation to determine if the testing site should continue past June.
