TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Residents of Vigo County have an opportunity to discard hazardous household waste from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Vigo County Solid Waste Management’s “Tox Away” day.
Residents just need to show a valid I.D. before being assigned to a zone to help with traffic flow, according to a press release.
Karrum Nasser, executive director for Vigo County Solid Waste Management, said the event is important to help the environment.
“It’s a good event. The weather is going to be cooperating with us this Saturday,” he said. “So, we hope people will come out and know that they are helping the environment by disposing of these products safely.”
This year they will also be accepting electronics and four tires per vehicle.
