VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — This weekend, Vigo County residents will have the chance to dispose of electronics for free.

Typically, there’s a fee of $20 dollars per TV, but thanks to a $5,000 dollar grant from the Duke Energy Foundation, people will be able to dispose of up to four TVs at no charge. Vigo County Solid Waste will hold its Free Electronics and TV Amnesty Day on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at its facility located at 3230 East Haythorne Avenue. The service is available for Vigo County residents.

“We just don’t want them to be left on the side of the road or in the alleyways. We just try to keep our community looking clean,” explained Karrum Nasser, Executive Director of Vigo County Solid Waste Management District.

Vigo County Solid Waste Management plans to do another event like this in September. You can stay up to date with the event online on the Vigo County Solid Waste Management page, or by using their app, Vigo County Recycles.
