VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new exhibit at Vigo County’s History Center is designed to teach museum-goers about the history of the county’s front-line workers.
The second-floor exhibit features artifacts from Vigo County’s nursing and firefighting history. The firefighting items are being loaned to the center by the Terre Haute Police and Fire Museum, which is temporarily closed.
The nursing artifacts were donated by various organizations including Union Hospital and St. Anthony’s School of Nursing.
“It’s something that we can be proud of and I feel like the people of Terre Haute and surrounding communities should know about our history in firefighting and in nursing both,” said Suzy Quick, curator of the Vigo County History Center.
Residents can visit this exhibit at the history center through the end of the year.
