TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)- The Vigo County Health Department announced the county will be Orange on the state’s color coding scale when the map is updated Wednesday. Currently, the county is yellow.
The map tracks the spread of COVID-19 in a county by primarily looking at the number of cases per 100,000 people and the positivity rate. The positivity rate is the number of tests that come back positive divided by the number of tests given.
The colors go from blue to yellow to orange to red. Blue is the least serious and red is the most.
The Vigo County Health Department stated on its Facebook page Tuesday, “We continue to see a high increase of cases per day. Today we have 45 new COVID-19 cases. Please be mindful that COVID-19 is still in our community and spreading.”
