TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One CASA volunteer was recognized Thursday for her outstanding work in the community.
Court appointed advocated help abused and neglected children going through the system. Today, volunteer Delilah Bingle received the Vigo County “CASA volunteer of the year” award.
Peers and staff members recognize a coworkers who has done an outstanding job. Bingle said she was surprised by the honor.
“I never expected it,” Bingle said. “I’m very kid focused and I’m very much a pittbull when it comes to the kids I’m assigned. That’s always been my focus.”
Bingle just wrapped up her last case with the Vigo County CASA program. She’s been living in Greenfield, Ind. for the last three years and commuting back to Terre Haute because she felt the child she was working with needed her.
