Vigo County 911 issues Winter Weather Advisory

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County 911 on Thursday night issued a Winter Weather Advisory, adding that responsive action “should be taken soon (within next hour).”
Freezing rain is expected, with total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch in portions of central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Indiana. The brunt of the storm is expected to impact the area from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday. The severity is considered moderate, representing a possible threat to life or property.
The affected counties are Vigo, Sullivan, Clay, Greene, Knox, Daviess, Owen, Lawrence, Jennings Martin, Brown, Jackson and Bartholomew.
Those at home should prepare for possible power outages. Those on the road are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling.
