VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – To celebrate the importance of lifelong learning in the community, the Vigo County Public Library is hosting its 29th annual Family Learning Day.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the library parking lot.
Local children will have the opportunity to engage in various arts, hobbies, and skills in a fun family-friendly environment.
The event will also include an appearance from Sparky the Fire Dog from the Terre Haute Fire Department and the Sisters of Providence’s White Violet Center for EcoJustice alpacas will also be at the event. Children will also have the option of having their faces painted, selecting free books to take home while supplies last, enjoying a Foam Homies bubble party, dance, event giveaways, and exploring local first responder vehicles.
Expecting more than 30 organizations and businesses to participate this year, the VCPL has been putting this event on for the community since 1994. The groups and organizations at the event will be available to meet and engage with local families and provide kids with educational activities, resources and information.
