FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Election officials are reminding Hoosiers to register to vote.

Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day and the Indiana Secretary of State said Hoosiers can register online at the Indiana Voters portal.

They can also register in person at their local voter registration or county clerk’s office. WTWO stopped by the Vigo County voter registration office on Tuesday where voter registration co-director Jamie Simpson said every vote counts.

“If you don’t vote, that’s taking your voice away. Everybody wants their voice heard and voting is one way to have your voice heard,” Simpson said.

The deadline to register is October 10, and the municipal election takes place on November 7.
