VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Do you have a child ready to start kindergarten next year?

If so, enrollment begins Friday for Vigo County schools.

According to the VCSC Interim District Spokesperson Dr. Katelynn Liebermann, enrollment for kindergarten and Pre-K children will start Friday after 8 a.m. for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition, returning students and students new to Vigo County will also be eligible to enroll.

Christi Fenton, Director of Elementary Education with VCSC says getting enrolled on time is important.

“It’s important to get that done this spring because that way we can look at staffing and make sure we have appropriate staffing in every building, but the other thing about that is that you’re going to get important information about kindergarten for next year,” said Fenton.
