SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTW)/WAWV) — Folks in Sullivan are getting a helping hand from many nearby communities to help improve the area after the deadly tornado.
On Thursday, highway crews from Vigo County traveled to Sullivan to assist with the ongoing clean-up efforts.
According to Vigo County Engineer and Highway Director Larry Robbins, the highway department did tree and debris removal.
Vigo County Commissioner Mike Morris explains the decision to help out this way.
“This is the same thing that any county around here, Clay County or Sullivan County, would do for us, and our people were very anxious to come down here. We had people volunteer from the offices down the street here as well,” Morris explained.
The crews arrived in the morning and planned to work all day, accomplishing as much clean-up as possible.
