TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There was an update on Monday on the progress of the Veterans Village project.

As previously reported, six tiny homes are being built at Maple Avenue and North 23rd Street at Veterans Village. They’ll serve as transitional homes for local veterans experiencing homelessness.

According to Doug Drake with Field Representative Labors Local 204, a crew from ST Construction was out Monday pouring the concrete slabs for what would be the foundations for the six homes.

Ronald Miller, a Laborer Finisher for ST Construction, said he is proud to be part of this project.

“This is a big deal to me seeing as I recently was discharged from the Marine Corps and it feels good available to give back because there’s 390-some, almost, veterans in Vigo County alone and it’s a big deal to me in very important to help them out,” Miller said.

The work started at 9:00 on Monday morning and was finished in several hours.
