VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A deadly Vermillion County intersection is scheduled to get a much-needed fix.
The roads in question are the State Road 63 and State Road 234 intersection near Cayuga.
This will cause the north and southbound lanes at State Road 63 to be restricted at State Road 234. The State Road 63 passing lanes will also be restricted.
Signage will direct traffic around the restricted lanes.
RJ Dunavan is the Vermillion County Commissioner, and he is elated that INDOT has decided to take action on this intersection.
“I am hopeful that there will never be another tragedy at this intersection, and I believe INDOT is now paying attention to this intersection. I firmly believe that INDOT is paying attention and will take all the proper action needed in order to make this a safer area.”
Construction for this intersection is scheduled to start August the 14th.
