Vermillion Co. K9 officer receives body armor donation

HILLSDALE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A K9 officer from the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department will soon receive a potentially life-saving donation.

A bullet and stab protective vest will be provided to K9 Zeus thanks to the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest will be embroidered with the sentiment “Honoring those who served and sacrificed.” Delivery is expected within eight to 10 weeks.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283.
