VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Residents in Vermillion County can get some help with spring cleaning this weekend.
The county is holding cleanup days on Friday and Saturday for Vermillion County residents only. The event will give residents the chance to dispose of several items. Numerous dumpsters will be set up at two locations in the county where residents can pull up in their vehicles and workers will unload the items.
Officials ask participants to bag up what they can and to get there early as there is usually a line. The goal is just to make spring cleaning a little easier for residents.
“Roadside ditches get cleaned, people clean up roads and it’s just kind of a way to give back to the community. This is no cost for the citizens besides TVs, and mattresses, there is a small cost for that. But other than that, it’s just to give back to the community and give them an opportunity to get rid of stuff,” said RJ Dunavan, Vermillion County Commissioner.
The Vermillion County Cleanup Days will be from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
People can drop off items at 3543 East 1100 South in Clinton and at 817 West Ferry Street in Cayuga.
As a reminder, there’s a small fee for some items including mattresses and televisions, while other items like tires, paint, and hazardous materials will not be accepted.
However, the county will have a tire recycling event on May 13.
