VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — County officials have recently announced the dates for countywide clean-up and recycling days.
The county clean-up and recycling event is only available for Vermillion County residents. There is a 3-load limit per household and contractors are not allowed to participate. The specific dates, locations, and accepted waste items and recyclables are as follows:
- Vermillion County Clean-Up Day & Recycling
- When:
- Friday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Where: Dumpsters will be available at two different locations:
- 3543 E. 1100 S, Clinton
- 817 W. Ferry Street, Cayuga
- What:
- Accepted:
- Appliances
- Water heaters
- Furniture
- Automotive batteries
- Most electronic equipment
- Debris
- Any mattresses or box springs ($5 disposal charge)
- CRT televisions and monitors less than 27″ ($10 charge)
- CRT televisions bigger than 27″ and floor model projection TVs ($25 charge)
- Unaccepted:
- Paint
- Tires (tire recycling will be held on May 13)
- Hazardous waste
- When:
- Recycling (all recyclables need to be empty, clean, and dry)
- Accepted:
- Dry cardboard, paper, and magazines
- Aluminum and metal cans
- Plastics (#1 – #7)
- Unacceptable:
- Plastic bags or film
- Glass
