VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — County officials have recently announced the dates for countywide clean-up and recycling days.

The county clean-up and recycling event is only available for Vermillion County residents. There is a 3-load limit per household and contractors are not allowed to participate. The specific dates, locations, and accepted waste items and recyclables are as follows:

  • Vermillion County Clean-Up Day & Recycling
    • When:
      • Friday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
      • Saturday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    • Where: Dumpsters will be available at two different locations:
      • 3543 E. 1100 S, Clinton
      • 817 W. Ferry Street, Cayuga
    • What:
      • Accepted: 
      • Appliances 
      • Water heaters 
      • Furniture
      • Automotive batteries
      • Most electronic equipment
      • Debris
      • Any mattresses or box springs ($5 disposal charge)
      • CRT televisions and monitors less than 27″ ($10 charge)
      • CRT televisions bigger than 27″ and floor model projection TVs ($25 charge)
      • Unaccepted:
      • Paint
      • Tires (tire recycling will be held on May 13)
      • Hazardous waste
  • Recycling (all recyclables need to be empty, clean, and dry)
    • Accepted:
    • Dry cardboard, paper, and magazines 
    • Aluminum and metal cans
    • Plastics (#1 – #7)
    • Unacceptable:
    • Plastic bags or film
    • Glass

The Vermillion County Clean-Up Day and Recycling event is possible thanks to the Vermillion County Solid Waste Board, the Vermillion County Highway Department, Green Valley Disposal, and Wallace Brothers Disposal.
