PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — Update: A driver falling asleep led to a head-on collision involving two vehicles Monday evening in Rockville.

According to Rockville Police Chief Bill McMichael, the crash occurred near the intersection of U.S. 41 (called Lincoln Road in town) and Rockville Road. McMichael said a driver was headed southbound when the driver began to fall asleep and her car drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic.

The vehicle struck a northbound vehicle head-on. The crash caused one driver to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, the other driver refused medical treatment.

According to the Parke County Sheriffs Office, two vehicles collided on U.S. 41 And Rockville Road at about 7:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities say at least one person was taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.
