VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County Schools were on a two-hour delay on Tuesday morning.
The delay is something that has been scheduled to take place since the end of last school year, and the VCSC wants parents to know the reason for planned delays like this.
The school corporation said the delay gives school staff time to complete tasks like required training.
For example, staff at Hoosier Prairie Elementary School worked on professional development and teambuilding exercises.
Principal Jennifer Nickel explained the benefits for staff.
“The two-hour delays are crucial for team building, getting out those best practices and strategies. There are so many things we got to get completed like trainings that we don’t have time during a normal day to complete,” Nickel said.
Meanwhile, at Terre Haute South High School, the staff spent the morning training on how to moderate the SAT.
