VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Officials with the Vigo County School Corporation will host a public meeting Monday, June 6, to discuss the terms of its contract with Superintendent nominee Chris Himsel.

Himsel is an Indiana State University graduate and also started his career at Rose-Hulman Institue of Technology and was the superintendent for the Northwest Allen County Schools for 12 years. Himsel also won superintendent of the year for the state of Indiana in 2017.

The public hearing will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in the Vigo County School Administration Conference Center, located at 501 W. Olive Street in West Terre Haute.

Pending board approval, Himsel is expected to start early next month.

The school board initially held two rounds of interviews with 12 candidates, eventually narrowing that list to two candidates before finally deciding to extend an offer to Himsel.
