TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County School Corporation is in the process of remodeling the restrooms at its three high schools.
School officials explained the improvements made so far to the restrooms at Terre Haute North Vigo High School on Monday.
The restrooms at the three schools will be getting new paint, a deep steam clean, new lighting, and timed air fresheners. Any fixtures that aren’t working properly will also be replaced.
In addition, the school corporation is installing water-bottle filling stations.
“It allows us to get good, filtered water throughout the school day at the turn of a corner and I think that’s the best addition we’ve had,” says Ezra Gatrell, Terre Haute North Student Council President and senior.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Tom Balitewicz had a message for students and their families.
“We want to be good on what we say and our word, and making sure that we are creating a better environment for our students and our staff,” says Balitewicz.
The school corporation’s goal is to have the high schools’ restrooms finished by the time the new school year starts in August.
