TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A vacant home caught fire Wednesday evening in Terre Haute.

According to Terre Haute Fire Department Chief Bill Berry, the call came in at 6:08 p.m. of a residential structure fire in the 2000 block of North 12th Street.

Berry said it took firefighters approximately 2 hours to clear the scene. Berry said the building had been vacant, but contractors were in the process of remodeling the home.

No one was at the residence when the fire began, and no injuries have been reported as a result. Berry said the house is not considered a total loss.

Berry added the fire is not considered suspicious, however the cause remains under investigation.
