WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — US Congressman Larry Bucshon of Indiana’s 8th District went on a tour Thursday throughout the Wabash Valley.

During his time here, Bucshon said he was glad Indiana and federal agencies could help the Afghan refugees at Camp Atterbury. According to Bucshon, many of the refugees had helped the US in the past and were at risk from the Taliban if they had stayed in Afghanistan.

The congressman also discussed rising inflation during his visit. He said regionally the lack of a workforce and housing issues are causing problems.

“Getting qualified workers and springboarding from that also affordable single family homes,” Bucshon said. “Right now, the marketplace, there’s just no inventory out there. There’s no place for people to live. There’s a low inventory of apartments that are affordable to rent.”

Among Congressman Bucshon’s stops Thursday was a construction company in Vincennes, Ind.
