VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Construction on a local county jail is right on schedule.
The Knox County Jail had an eventful day Thursday, as they received the new holding cells for the pod additions. The next phase is sealing the building once the pods are placed. Then later, they will be having electricians and plumbers come in.
Knox county sheriff Doug Vantlin said he’s ready to get this project completed.
“Getting started with it, it’s been going on almost two years now. So, we’re looking forward to getting it completed and getting on with the work around here,” Vantlin said.
The completion of everything is expected to be in December of 2023.
