CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Healthcare workers at Union Hospital Clinton will have plenty of space to serve patients after a recent expansion.

According to a release from Union Hospital, the expansion doubles the space previously assigned to their Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. Pulmonary Rehabilitation helps people with chronic pulmonary disease to live full, rewarding lives through education, exercise and support.

The program originally opened in February 2018 and was funded by a grant from the Union Clinton Guild. Back then they handled about 50 patient visits per month. Now, 4 years later, the program has expanded to handle more than 220 patient visits every month.

55 patients have graduated from the program since its inception.

Plans are also in the works to add Cardiac Rehabilitation to the services provided by Union Hospital Clinton.
