CRANE, Ind. — An unidentifiable object found near the Crane Army Ammunition Activity Pyrotechnics facility in Crane, Ind. forced residents to stay indoors for nearly an hour Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., construction workers found the object prompting a warning to residents of the possible danger.
Crane officials have not confirmed if it was an un-exploded ordinance, but the situation was treated as such.
Around 3 p.m. Crane’s explosive ordinance disposal team removed the object and transported it to a demo range where it was safely disposed.
The shelter in place was lifted at 3 p.m.
