Two-vehicle wreck on SR-46 sends three people to the hospital

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A two-vehicle accident Friday on SR-46 in Terre Haute, sent three people to the hospital, Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said.

It happened just after 4:30 pm on the eastbound ramp from SR-46 to I-70.

Sgt. Ames said a car driven by an off-duty police officer was traveling from SR-46 onto I-70, when it collided with another vehicle that was traveling south leaving the interstate. The off-duty officer had their child in the car with them.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was ejected. All three people involved were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

Sgt. Ames confirmed alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
