VERMILLION CO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two juveniles are in custody after leading officials on a police pursuit from Vigo County to Vermillion County.

On January 21, 2022 at approximately 11:30 PM, Vermillion County Deputies were notified by Vigo County Dispatch of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of St. Road 63.

According to dispatchers, a white 4-door Kia fled from officials on First St.

The vehicle attempted to avoid officers by going the wrong way on the Maple Street Exit near St. Road 63.

The car was later located at around 11:50 PM traveling Northbound on St. Road 63 at CR. 1250 South, traveling at a speed of 113 miles per hour.

The vehicle turned onto Old State Road 63 near Hillsdale before going through an intersection. The Kia later crashed into a tree and stopped in a parking lot.

Two juveniles exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a search of the area, both suspects were located and taken into custody. The occupants sustained minor injuries in the crash. 

Marijuana, Alcohol, and a firearm with an altered serial number were found inside of the vehicle. 

The juveniles are described to be 17-year-old and 15-year-old both from Rockville.

The teens were transported to Union Hospital of Clinton for medical evaluation.
