TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two local high schools will be heading to Indianapolis, as they gear up for a special event.
Terre Haute South and Terre Haute North, will be competing in the ISSMA Marching Band State Finals Saturday, October 14. Both teams have put in numerous hours of hard work to make it to this point.
The band directors for each team have chosen a theme for their performance. North’s will be based on “Queen’s in Live Concert” featuring some of their hit songs. And South’s will be “Tales from the Attic” featuring songs from the movie Beetlejuice, Jimi Hendrix, and Evanescence.
Students from both schools say marching band has been a big part of their high school experience.
“I’m really proud of the students with what they’ve done this year. It’s, we’ve faced some challenges and we’ve over come those challenges and it’s just been great. It’s been a great time it’s been a lot of fun but it’s also been something that’s really impactful for both me and all the students,” said Aaron Robinson, a senior at Terre Haute North.
“I’d say it’s made it really really good. Like it’s brought it to another level just this group of people is really amazing and this activity is one that brings me so much joy,” said Clara Noxon, a junior at Terre Haute South.
ISSMA Marching Band State Finals will be at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis.
