RICHLAND COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Illinois State Police are investigating a two-car crash that resulted in a fatality on March 21. 

According to a post from Illinois State Police Troop 9, around 3:00 p.m., two drivers were involved in a crash that resulted in one death and hospitalization. A 55-year-old man from Dundas, Illinois was headed north on Illinois 130 near 1400 North in Richland county when for unknown reasons, his vehicle crossed the center line and struck Meledy Blumberg, 55, of West Liberty, Illinois who was heading south. 

The crash resulted in the man being transported to a hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries and Blumberg being pronounced dead at the scene by the Richland County Coroner. 

The roadway was closed for around 5 hours for crews to investigate and clean the crash. The crash is still currently under investigation.
