TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two Terre Haute men have been arrested after police say they were caught stealing from a business, including a catalytic converter.
According to the Terre Haute Police, 26-year-old Ethan Delaney and 22-year-old Christopher Miller, both of Terre Haute, were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Police said the incident began when officers responded to Grayless Filters and R & A Sales at 2 a.m. for a report claiming two people had broken into the property. When police arrived they reportedly found both Delaney and Miller in the immediate area.
A search found them in possession of items believed to be stolen from the businesses as well as a cut catalytic converter.
While a search of public court records indicates formal charges have not yet been filed, a judge granted the state a 72-hour period to determine the charges against Delaney. Delaney is due for an initial hearing in court on Tuesday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m.
Delaney is being held on a $25,000 bond, with no 10% allowed.
Miller’s case does not yet appear on public court records, but the Vigo County Jail inmate tracker showed Miller as having been booked into the jail on Feb. 2.
Police listed the charges as burglary and theft of precious metals from a motor vehicle for both Delaney and Miller.
