PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two Rockville men have been arrested after an investigation into the theft of scrap metal.

According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, a truck entered a private property and stole a large amount of scrap metal before driving through the property owner’s standing cornfield damaging crops as well.

Frazier said the theft occurred on Friday with the report being made Saturday. A short time after taking the report, a deputy spotted the suspected vehicle on U.S. 41 and pulled it over.

Frazier said the driver was identified as Renny Lee Marshall, 43, of Rockville. Marshall was taken into custody on preliminary charges of theft and criminal mischief.

The passenger in the vehicle, Rocky Dean Fransted Jr., 43, also of Rockville, was also arrested for an unrelated warrant regarding probation violation.

Frazier said Fransted is being held on no bond, while Marshall was being held on a $7,000 bond.
